A while back, I had a Linked-in post on Vision, but envisioning is very different. Vision is more about leadership and big picture stuff, where envisioning is individualized and aspirant. It’s about giving yourself permission to dream bigger. And when you dream bigger, you set in motion the actualization of your dreams. The problem many people have is they don’t envision something beyond their current state. Some even pessimistically envision worst case scenarios. They sell themselves short. They think in a limited manner instead of what is possible.
The key to envisioning is action. Otherwise, it’s just wishful thinking. The issue people have with envisioning more, is they either don’t feel deserving, or they don’t want to put forth the effort required to positively change their current circumstances. Greatness doesn’t just happen. It takes focused passion, effort, and execution. Envisioning greatness begins with the belief that you deserve more, and you are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish that end.
When we started GlobalStar, we thought we had it going on, but we had a lot to figure out. That said, we did envision greatness. We had an idyllic view of creating a company that was uniquely better and the exception to any other services company in the Infor ERP space. We’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but we never stopped envisioning the extraordinary. After 21 years, we are closer to our aspirant greatness than ever before. That’s the thing about greatness, it's like unlimited potential, where you’re never quite there, but that’s where the juice resides, in the journey. It’s been 21 years since we started Globalstar (a multi-generational company), and we are looking forward to the next 21!
